Opening Doors to Women
AHS Family Health Center opens doors to women providing a safe space to share experiences. This is a great opportunity to voice your feelings and learn alternative ways of coping with stress. The primary aim of the group is to enable women to come together, empower themselves and enhance their general well being. * WHAT? RECYCLE for Community Education Sponsored by the West Ridge Chamber of Commerce, Devon Bank & Recycle Plus Bring your items to be recycled! * Sunday, July 22 * 11am - 1pm * Devon Bank Parking Lot - 6445 N. Western We can accept donations of paper, newsprint, magazines, glass, plastic, metals and cans. A portion of the money raised at this recycling event will stay in the West Ridge neighborhood. The Chamber of Commerce will donate funds to programs at local schools. Though the Devon SSA will not receive funding until November the SSA Commission has already begun to get things moving! The SSA and the West Ridge Chamber of Commerce contracted with a clean up crew that began sweeping the Devon Avenue sidewalks in June. Please say hello to our crew when you are out and about on the street. Kudos to the crew and 50th Ward Streets & Sanitation for the great job they are doing to keep Devon Avenue clean! Look for other big clean up changes to come late this fall. The next SSA Commissioners meeting will be held Thursday, July 26 at 3pm at the West Ridge Chamber of Commerce offices.
