schools.  In the 2009 school year the Chamber raised more than$2,000 through these
programs. Funds provided financial assistance to St. Scholastica, the North Town
Library's Childrens Programs.

Hospice Volunteer Opportunities
Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care will be hosting its summer training sessions
to find new volunteers to help patients and families in their area.  Volunteers
can also participate in a wide variety of activities from, bereavement, outreach,
administration and more.  All volunteers are able to work at the Rainbow Hospice
offices in Park Ridge or at convenient locations nearby their own homes.
Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care is a non-profit, community based organization
that provides comfort and dignity to people who are facing a terminal illness all
across the Greater Chicago Area.  Volunteers are fully trained and supported by
Rainbow Hospice and help provide powerful support to our patients and families.

Local Garden Walk
The Northtown Garden Society is sponsoring a Spring Evening Garden Walk from 6:00
P.M. to 8:45 P.M. on Thursday, June 18, 2009.  The gardens along the 6400, 6500,
6600 and 6700 blocks of Campbell , Maplewood , Rockwell and Talman Avenues will
be featured.
You may pick up registration materials at St. James Presbyterian Church, 6554 N.
Rockwell Avenue (the SW corner of Rockwell and Albion Avenues) between 6:00 and
7:15 P.M.
The walk will be held rain or shine.
